The Norwegian government will allow employers to relocate unvaccinated health personnel.
“In the health service, the employer has an opportunity to, for example, tell an employee who has not been vaccinated to not work with certain patient groups,” Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) told the newspaper Dagsavisen.
According to Høie, Norway does not have any general measures aimed at vaccine opponents in Norway, and the relocation of employees applies to all vaccines, not just the corona vaccine.
“The employer in the health service has more of an opportunity to relocate employees than other employers in working life. This is not only related to the corona vaccine but also to other vaccines.”
The Norwegian Nurses’ Association believes that such a relocation is not controversial.
“We do not think it is something controversial that an employer relocates unvaccinated health personnel to work with other patient groups or other tasks, on the grounds of patient safety,” Kai Øivind Brenden, the second deputy head of the association, noted.
