ind vs eng: rohit sharma loses cool at cameraman; india captain fumes as big screen shows his face on drs replay – watch
The story of Rohit Sharma vs. cameraman got a new addition on Friday (February 23) during the first day of play in the fourth Test match between India and England at the Jharkhand Cricket Association (JCA) Stadium in Ranchi after India called for a DRS review.
The incident happened when the skipper called for a review on a delivery from star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja with England wicketkeeper batter Ben Foakes’ on the crease. After the on-field umpire declared the appeal as not-out, skipper Rohit went upstairs on the demand of the bowler.
The delay in the DRS replays appearing on the big screen left Indian captain Rohit Sharma irked. With the players waiting for the decision to appear on the screen, the cameraman decided to focus on Rohit. The home team skipper lost his cool on seeing his face and urged those in charge of the TV replays to hurry up with the decision instead of showing him on the crease. The video clip of Rohit’s reaction went viral all over social media.

Talking about the match, England won the toss and chose to bat before Indian debutant pacer Akash Deep ran through their top order. The 27-year-old took the wickets of Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, and Ollie Pope as India got five wickets in the first session.
However, Joe Root returned to form with a sensational century to ensure England were not bowled on Day 1. The Ben Stokes-led team ended the day at 302/7, with Root unbeaten at 106 in 226 balls. Alongside Akash’s three-wicket haul, Mohammed Siraj took two wickets, while both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja got one wicket each.
India are on the verge of a series victory as they hold a 2-1 lead in the series. India lost the first Test in Hyderabad but won the next two fixtures in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot.
