HanuMan box office collection day 7 : Teja Sajja’s superhero film is unstoppable as it nears Rs 150 crore worldwide, outperforms Kantara’s first-week total
Teja Sajja’s HanuMan, directed by Prashanth Varma, is gaining steam at the box office. On day seven of its release in theatres, the mythological superhero film crossed the Rs 130 crore mark globally. In the domestic market, the film eared Rs 9.5 crore on Thursday, according to industry tracking website Sacnilk. The film’s total nett earnings in India stand at Rs 89.80 crore.
The official Instagram page of the film’s production house, Prime Show Entertainment, shared that they have now increased the number of shows in various parts of the country following audience demand. While the film continues to perform well, there has been a slight fall observed in its daily earnings, as the box office collection of Wednesday was Rs 11.34 crore, around Rs 2 crore more than that of Thursday. But the film will likely experience a jump in collections in its second weekend.
HanuMan clashed with the Telugu heavyweight Guntur Kaaram, starring Mahesh Babu, and other South Indian films like Venkatesh Daggubati’s Saindhav and Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga. HanuMan witnessed a 57.44 percent total Telugu occupancy on Thursday. Hyderabad had 297 shows running in cinemas, with 76.75 percent occupancy, Bangaluru had 323 shows running with 25.25 percent occupancy. By comparison, the blockbuster Kannada film Kantara made Rs 35 crore in week one, before word-of-mouth kicked in leading to an increase in numbers in week two.
Telugu star Samantha Ruth Prabhu on Thursday took to Instagram to laud HanuMan. In a note, she wrote, “The best kind of movies are those that make us feel like a kid again . The exciting visuals, cinematic highs, humour and magic all tied together with some amazing music, visuals and performances. This is the wizardry that Hanuman has unleashed on the big screen . Thank you for this @prasanthvarmaofficial Can’t wait to see the next chapters of your universe unfold.”
Along with Teja Sajja, the film also stars Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty and Vinay Rai. Set in the fictional village of Anjanadri, HanuMan is the first installment of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
