Michael Morales blitzes Trevin Giles for UFC debut knockout at UFC 270.
Michael Morales may be one of the youngest fighters on the UFC roster, but he showcased the composure of a veteran in his promotional debut against Trevin Giles.
It wasn’t an easy first few minutes for Morales, who struggled to counter Giles’ grappling as he ended up in a body triangle. But, he was able to reverse position and get the fight back to the feet.
Morales was able to move just out of range of a series of stiff jabs from Giles, before landing a huge hook that stumbled Giles. After a barrage of punches, Giles collapsed to the canvas and Morales threw vicious ground-and-pound to secure the finish.
The win moved Morales to 13-0 and began his UFC tenure in a nearly flawless way.

Michael Morales could be a star in the making at 170 pounds
Giles entered UFC 270 off of a tough loss to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 264. After a solid start to the fight, Du Plessis knocked out Giles in a vicious fashion.
Before the loss, Giles had won three straight over James Krause, Bevon Lewis, and Roman Dolidze.
Morales earned the praise of UFC president Dana White after a dominant win over Nikolay Veretennikov on Dana White’s Contender Series. The UFC headman called Morales a “special” prospect and didn’t hesitate to give him a contract.
Before signing with the UFC, Morales won his first 12 professional bouts in smaller promotions such as Eternal MMA and Fusion Fighting Championship. Out of his 12 wins, 9 of them finished in a knockout.
With the win over Giles, Morales has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the welterweight division and is a name to keep an eye on in 2022.
