Community Beer Works to acquire Thin Man Brewery
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Community Beer Works announced that it has come to a deal with a popular Buffalo brewery, acquiring brand rights and brewery assets.
CBW will acquire Thin Man Brewery of Buffalo, LLC, the company announced. The pending deal includes rights to the Thin Man brand, assets, recipes, distribution, and the capital assets at the brewery’s Chandler Street location.
“It’s a step forward in our commitment to delivering world-class beer experiences to the people of Buffalo and beyond,” CBW co-founder Chris Smith said in a release. “Thin Man has gained international recognition and respect for their beer, and we are honored to carry their legacy forward.”
CBW said in a release that the deal aims to take the art of brewing to new heights and that they will continue brewing and distributing both brand’s beers. The brewery said the investment opens up a 16-state distribution channel and increases their current brewing volume.
Upon approval, CBW said brewing production will be split between its existing location on 7th Street and Thin Man’s Chandler Street location.
Thin Man’s former location on Elmwood Avenue closed in July 2023 is not part of the deal and the location will remain closed.
