New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been summoned to appear in Sultanpur’s civil court in connection with a defamation case filed by BJP leader Vijay Mishra in 2018. This development comes after Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh confirmed the summoning on behalf of the party.
The defamation case was initiated by Vijay Mishra against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly making “objectionable” remarks directed at Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
As a result of the court summons, the ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, will be halted for the time being and is scheduled to resume later today at 2:00 PM. The yatra, aimed at galvanizing support and addressing key issues across various regions of India, has been an integral part of the Congress party’s outreach efforts.
