K-pop boy group Treasure is slated to hold their first-ever concerts on April 9 and 10 at the Olympic Hall in the Olympic Park located in southern Seoul, according to its management company YG Entertainment, Monday.
This is the first time for the 12-piece act to stage a concert since their debut in 2020. The shows will also be livestreamed.
“Treasure members have been sparing no efforts to gear up for their concerts,” YG said in a statement. “They will not only perform their new songs ― which will drop Feb. 15 ― but also form sub-units to showcase their unexplored sides on stage. The audience might be able to witness Treasure’s musical growth.”
But YG added that there is a possibility for the group’s live concerts to be canceled if the current rapid spread of Omicron is not brought under control by that time. Korea’s daily COVID-19 infection cases have remained at over 30,000 since Friday.
Prior to its concerts, Treasure will unleash its first EP, “The Second Step: Chapter One” on Feb. 15. Aside from the lead single, “JIKIJIN,” the EP will carry five other tracks of different moods.
Treasure is the first K-pop act debuting under YG following its creation of girl group Black Pink in 2016. They burst onto the K-pop scene in 2020 with the track, “BOY.”
