Who is most popular pick for Colts in PFF NFL mock draft simulator?

The Indianapolis Colts are going into the 2024 NFL Draft with a handful of needs leading the list, but which prospect is the most popular pick when it comes to mock draft simulators?

While it’s a pretty diverse group, the Pro Football Focus NFL mock draft simulator has a pretty clear favorite for the Colts. Coming in at 25.2% of the selections made by mock draft simulator users, Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell is the most popular pick for the Colts.

This should come as no surprise. Mitchell is one of the top prospects likely to be available for the Colts at No. 15 overall, and he’s a perfect fit for Gus Bradley’s zone-heavy scheme.

Few players increased their draft stock as Mitchell did throughout the pre-draft process. It started with a dominant showing at the Senior Bowl, which is something we know general manager Chris Ballard loves to see.

On top of that, he put together an elite athletic profile at the NFL Scouting Combine in March.

There are a number of cornerback-needy teams ahead of the Colts in the draft order so there’s certainly a chance he will be gone before Indy is on the clock.

The Colts have a young corps of cornerbacks in second-year defenders Julius Brents and Jaylon Jones, and they were able to sign veteran Kenny Moore II to a contract extension this offseason.

Adding Mitchell to a young group of cornerbacks is a bit risky simply considering the unit’s inexperience, but he would be an ideal fit as the Colts look to continue growing the depth chart.
