Isaac Go loves the fight in this reborn Terrafirma team

ISAAC Go had career-highs on Wednesday during Terrafirma’s game against San Miguel in the PBA 48th Season Philippine Cup.

Go had 21 points and shot 7-of-15 from threes for the Dyip in their huge match-up against the Beermen. Unfortunately, Terrafirma fell short as Go misfired from rainbow country in the final possession to lose to San Miguel, 113-110.

Go proud with his team

While he regretted that the career-night didn’t result in a victory, Go is mighty proud with the fight his team showed against the best team of the conference.

“The last two games, kalaban namin San Miguel and Ginebra, when you go up against these franchises, kailangan best foot forward talaga. No choice eh. ‘Yung good nila, pang-great na ng lahat namin eh. That’s basically how good they are. We have to pose with our best performance,” said Go.

“That’s why they are champions,” Go said of San Miguel. “Nakita mo ‘yung grit. Alam nila kahit lamang kami, down kami. Sila, same lang.”

Terrafirma squandered a nine-point halftime lead against San Miguel, but kept itself in the game. Go helped the Dyip stay in the match, draining a three-pointer with 42.3 seconds left to cut the deficit to 111-110.

Beermen proved too much for Dyip

But San Miguel was just too much with second-stringer Mo Tautuaa scoring from point blank range to settle the final score.

“The guys, everyone here, you’ve seen the fight of the coaches and the players. You are seeing everyone just giving their all. Walang suko. Parang nahawa kami sa ‘Never Say Die’ na rin eh,” Go said.

“Everyone just fought and believed that if we just stayed there, gave ourselves our chance to win the game. We just believed,” said Go.

The loss dropped Terrafirma’s record to 4-4, a proof that the Dyip still has a lot to improve, according to Go.

“We take it on game-per-game basis. We had bad games against Phoenix. I personally had a bad game against Meralco,” said Go.

“We’ve been inconsistent. But what has been consistent is the fight. Walang suko,” said Go.
