Top LSU football recruits set national high school relay record at Texas state meet
Duncanville High School’s star-laden relay team broke the national high school 4×200 boys record by a whole second on Saturday.
Dakorien Moore, the anchor, crossed the finish line in 1:22.25, which also invariably set a UIL state record and won the Panthers the event title at the Class 6A state meet at the University of Texas in Austin.

In addition to Moore, an LSU commit and the nation’s top wide receiver prospect in the class of 2025, the relay team also included Ayson Theus, Caden Durham and Brayden Williams.

The same quartet finished second in the 4×100 final with a time (39.47) that would have finished No. 1 any other year, however Atascocita won in 39.14 — the second-fastest high school 4×100 time ever. Four schools finished faster than 40 seconds in the relay final in what is believed to be the fastest 4×100 ever.
Durham, SBLive’s North Texas Football Player of the Year and a first team all-state running back signed with LSU, is the team’s fastest 100 runner.
He finished third in 10.46 in the 100 meter race on Saturday behind Northside Harlan’s Tate Taylor in second and Atascocita’s Jelani Watkins, the winner at 10.19.
The previous record stood since 2018, when Conroe The Woodlands (Texas) ran a 1:23.25. That team included Jake Lanier, DeAngelo Alexander, Kesean Carter and Ethan Bonner.
