Boo at the Zoo! For the first of three weekends, the Lehigh Valley Zoo continues what has become a family tradition, beginning Saturday and Sunday, as well as Oct. 23-24 and Oct. 30-21. Each day 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., there will be candy/treat stations throughout the zoo, with music and dancing with DJ Ray from Fling-a-Things from 12 to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, a pumpkin patch and more. Lehigh Valley Food, Wine, and Cider Festival: Coca-Cola Park hosts two events in one, 12-4 p.m. Saturday. Food Trucks will be located outside Coca-Cola Park and access is free, but to access Wine and Cider Fest, a ticket will be required. Hard cider and wine tastings from local and regional cideries and wineries, along with live music, games (including the Great Apple Launch) and the chance to purchase cider and wine by the bottle or case. Tickets start at $35, with VIP tickets for $45 that include an early access at 11 a.m. Designated-driver tickets are $5, to enter the event and enjoy a five-hour session with complimentary water. A little tract-fun
Tract-or-Treat: Pocono Organics hosts its second Tract-or-Treat event (think trunk-or-treat, but at the farm) to kick off the Spooky Season. 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday. Activities start at 2, but guests can enjoy all day spooky delights in the cafe, including the premiere of housemade Candied Apples and festive lunch offerings. Bring your car and decorate it for the occasion. Parents will be directed to parking spots where they can park, decorate, and hand out candy. Please be parked and ready by 2 p.m. sharp. Halloween Dance Party for Kids: The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley will host its dance party in the street between Barnes & Noble and Old Navy, 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The party will be held all month, and it is a free community event. You can let everybody know you’re coming. All guests are encouraged to dress in costume for the party. Lisa Loeb: You’ve seen her on the commercials for an insurance company, but Saturday night, you can see the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter in Sellersville. Lisa Loeb started her career with the No. 1 song “Stay (If I Missed You)” from the film “Reality Bites.” The Dallas native followed it up with several other hits, and she also has her own eyewear line, writes children’s books and has recorded five children’s albums.
