A 16-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed in a street attack.
Police said the alarm was raised after the 16-year-old victim arrived at a home on Woodlands Road, Aigburth, Liverpool, with two stab wounds to his chest on Tuesday night.
The suspect, who cannot be named due to his age, has also been charged with possession of an bladed article.
He is due to appear at Liverpool Youth Remand Court on Friday.
A 16-year-old girl was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and later released on bail pending further inquiries.
Merseyside Police officers believe the attack occurred on nearby Hailsham Road but said an investigation was ongoing.
The victim remains in a serious but stable condition, the force added.
