The Zugspitze is Germany’s tallest mountain. 2,962 metres at its summit, Zugspitze offers majestic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains that sit on the border between Germany and Austria. You can get to the top via cable car, or you can take the scenic train from Garmisch Zugspitzbahnhof to Zugspitzplatt glacier station. There are several restaurants at the top, and there are a number of ski resorts in the surrounding area.

Lake Constance

Lake Constance is a favourite holiday destination for both German and foreign tourists. It is a destination that offers a wide range of activities, making it an excellent destination for family groups. You’ll find nature reserves, water sports, scenic views, cultural sight-seeing opportunities, and plenty of wonderful restaurants and bars.

Munich is the capital city of Bavaria. It’s a cosmopolitan city full of history. If you’re looking for a taste of German culture at its best, Munich offers it in spades. You’ll find wonderful museums, galleries, historic buildings, and delectable German cuisine. And if you visit in autumn, you’ll get to experience Oktoberfest, which is a beer festival unlike any other on earth. Oktoberfest is a two-week festival that features live music, games, an amusement park, and plenty of jolly people wearing lederhosen.

Schloss Neuschwanstein

While visiting Bavaria, be sure to take a trip out to Schloss Neuschwanstein. This incredible castle is considered to be the most beautiful castle in the world. The location alone is jaw-dropping, set atop a rocky outcrop and surrounded by mountain peaks, and the castle looks as though it is a fairy-tale palace come to life. So much so, in fact, that Walt Disney used it as inspiration for the famous Disney palace.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Global Tech News Daily

Schloss Neuschwanstein may be Germany’s finest fairy-tale castle, but Rothenburg ob der Tauber is Germany’s dreamiest fairy-tale town. Wondering through the cobblestone streets of this gorgeous, medieval town is like stepping into the pages of a storybook. Be sure to visit the Councilor’s Tavern (Ratsherrntrinkstube) -the building dates back to the 14th century, and inside you will find an old mechanical clock whose figurines come to life every time the clock strikes the hour and they tell the bizarre story of the mayor who, in an effort to save his town, had to drink a gallon of wine. The town is particularly stunning in winter, and it hosts a Christmas market that will undoubtedly warm your heart and lift your spirits.

If you’re hoping to take in the wonders of Germany’s famous Gothic architecture, Cologne is the city to visit. The Cologne Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is truly a sight to behold. Cologne is a truly beautiful city, and if you plan to base yourself here, you’ll find that there are numerous activities to keep you entertained. The city is home to fantastic museums and historic monuments, as well as wonderful restaurants and cafes. It is also home to the unique and delightful, Cologne Chocolate Museum, and we highly recommend that you spend an afternoon revelling in all things chocolate.

The Black Forest

If you’re looking for a getaway that gets you back to nature, then get yourself to the Black Forest. This is one of Germany’s most beautiful regions; made famous by the fairy tales of the Brother’s Grimm; beloved by the Romans for its thermal springs; and summer bolthole for early 19th century upper classes. You can explore this wonderous landscape on horseback, or by bicycle, or on foot. There are plenty of hiking trails and outdoor activities to explore. The are also boasts of charming villages and lovely towns.

Berlin is one of the coolest cities on the planet. Renowned for its eclectic mix of art, music, fashion, and design, the city is a veritable melting pot of cultural phenomena. Germany’s capital city is bursting with things to do and places to see. The city’s architecture is sight-seeing wonder in itself, and there are plenty of historic monuments and important landmarks to tick off your bucket list. You’ll find avant-garde restaurants, exciting night-clubs, and vibrant bars to keep you entertained in the evenings.

Bayreuth is a mecca for opera lovers. Every year, the town holds a festival in honour of German-born composer, Richard Wagner. The 18th century opera house is a masterful example of Baroque architecture, and to experience an opera when seated within its hallowed hall, is to be transported back in time. The town is full of beautiful buildings, interesting museums, and lovely cafes.

The Upper Middle Rhine Valley

If you’ve had your fill of cultural endeavours, take a break from the cities and head out to the Rhine Valley. The Upper Rhine Valley stretches out across Germany, Switzerland, and France. The region holds UNESCO World Heritage status in honour of its incredible, natural beauty. If you take a trip down the Rhine River, you will be filled with awe as it winds its way through the valley, past quaint towns and scenic vistas. And the valley is also home to the vineyards that produce the best of Germany’s Riesling wine. Wine tasting opportunities abound. Sit back, relax, sip a cold glass of Riesling and enjoy some of the most luxurious views in the world.

Spielhallen Tour

Casino games have long tradition in Germany. Almost every state has a traditional casino – a Spielhalle. They are usually fun places, designed especially for playing casino games. They often sport interesting architecture and extremely good service (even for Germany) If you want to travel through several states, we suggest travelling from casino to casino, especially if you are classical slots afficionado.
