Singer Tones and I has gone on an extraordinary foul-mouthed rant over Sydney’s lockdown, blasting the NSW Government over it’s handling of the pandemic.
The ARIA Award-winning artist has split her 675,000 Instagram fans after claiming the lockdown has “gone on for so long that we have forgotten what ‘life’ we are even fighting for!”
She goes on to use the F-word 10 times, listing an array of industries and professions she says are “f**ked”, including hospitality, retail and tourism.
“Australia is f**ked right now. I’m not even gonna speak on the arts industry because that’s f**ked,” she wrote to her 675,000 fans.
She also pointed to what she says has been a lack of “enough conversation” around mental health and suicide and describes people’s lives as “ruled by COVID updates”.
“Now the government is putting the majority of the country into a position of huge pain and suffering. Everyone is loosing (sic) everything, small business’s have gone under, people are locked away from friends and family, walking on the beach is becoming voodoo,” she fumed.
But she offered her own solution to offer to help.
She pledged $5000 to 10 small businesses which were struggling, encouraging those interested to contact her on social media.
“If you know small business either you or your family or friends that are really on the verge of giving up please send me a DM!,” she wrote.
Her plea garnered mixed responses with one person accusing the singer of missing the mark and failing to use her platform to promote vaccination.

“This post is inflammatory, uneducated and could do serious damage. Push people towards fringe movements that will only continue to hold us in lockdown. Why don’t you ask your platform to get vaccinated?! Or make sure they stay at home?” one fan wrote.
However many praised her for words, including fellow singer Tina Arena.
“Well said darling! Feeling helpless for everyone. We have to remember that it’s super important now who we vote for as our leaders … cause no ones showing any real leadership in this situation now,” Arena wrote in the comments.
“Zero cases is f***ing unrealistic … we in the arts cannot work unless we’re vaccinated. Now, do I really want a needle? No, but I’d much rather not catch the virus, nor would I want to infect others. I want all of us to be able to work and have a purpose … cause that’s what life’s about! Keep up your wonderful work.
