Tom Parker has bravely spoken up about his brain tumour battle on Stand Up To Cancer on Friday.

The Wanted star, 33, candidly revealed on the fundraising show: ‘All I could think of is “I’m gonna die”‘ while fans praised him for being ‘an absolute hero’.

The singer – who was diagnosed with brain cancer last year – spoke frankly about his battle with cancer in a annual show alongside his The Wanted bandmates.

Lead singer Max George branded him ‘so positive’ and said he makes everyone ‘feel so loved.’

His positive outlook was noticed by fans, who quickly flooded Twitter with their praise for the star.

One home-viewer said: ‘@TomParker is an inspiration, he is so unbelievably strong. An absolute hero #su2c’.

Another wrote: ‘Watching stand up to cancer! Watching the Tom parker story, bringing back everything for me! Such an important cause! 1 in 2 will be diagnosed in their lifetime, such a scary stat! We need to kill of this disease, it affects and ruins too many people!’

‘@TomParker just watched your story on #SU2C and my heart goes out to you, you are a brave person for highlighting your #Cancer [,] super hero’.

‘Watching stand up to cancer and wow @TomParker, you’re an inspiration to us all’.

One more fan added: ‘@TomParker just caught up on your piece on SU2C tonight. Once again, I was beyond moved by you and of course @BeingKelsey [.] Your story of love and positivity conquering fear and heartbreak really is truly inspiring. You two are incredible x’.

Back in September, the boy band reunited for the first time in seven years to headline a concert organised by Tom, entitled Inside My Head.

Yet it was touch and go as to whether he’d be able to perform with his bandmates Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes due to his condition.

Tom was diagnosed with glioblastoma last year, which is inoperable, and has undergone radiotherapy.

In his documentary Inside My Head, he learnt that the tumour had shrunk – but was left unsure of what the future holds for him.

‘I don’t want people to treat me different just because I’ve got something, I think that was always on my mind,’ he said.

He continued: ‘I do feel like I’m in a much stronger place, but it’s so hard to think about the future. Do you know what I mean? I genuinely don’t know what it holds anymore.’

Tom’s wife Kelsey then branded the situation ‘horrendous’ for their family. The couple wed in 2018 and share two-year-old Aurelia Rose and 12-month-old son Bodhi.

Tom revealed he is aiming to become cancer-free in five months’ time, following six rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions.
