The next step in the Deshaun Watson rehab plan – throwing the football.
The Browns signal caller has said publicly via the QB Unplugged Podcast that he’s “ahead of schedule” in his recovery from surgery to repair a glenoid fracture in his throwing shoulder and . On Tuesday, at the NFL Combine, general manager Andrew Berry, confirmed Watson’s plans to resume throwing in March. It’s a major step in his road back to the field.
“Deshaun will begin throwing next month,” Berry said. “He’s worked his tail off with his rehab and recovery. He’s in a really good place. We’re excited for when the spring hits and we can get him back out on the field. But he’s making really good progress and we’re really excited to see that continue.
Watson sustained the injury a little over 16 weeks ago after helping orchestrate a 33-31 comeback win over the Ravens in Week 11. A little more than a week later, Watson had successful surgery to repair the fracture and spent much of the rest of the season rehabbing in Los Angeles.
