Amanda Lamb has told how she enforces a 10pm ‘tech’ curfew for her family, forcing them to submit their mobile phones to her bedroom until the next day.

The former A Place In The Sun presenter, 51, recently revealed that she put the disciplinary measure in place so her husband Sean McGuinness and two children Willow, 15, and Lottie, 10, wouldn’t be consumed by excessive screen time.

During a conversation with Closer magazine, the star from Hampshire revealed details of the strict regime, which she said she implements five days a week – from Sundays to Thursdays.

‘I’m a stickler for no screens at night,’ she said. ‘Everyone has to bring their devices up to my room at 10pm, and then they’re all allowed them again in the morning’.

However the mother-of-two, who’s been married to her videographer husband Sean for 12 years, admitted that getting her family to adhere to the rule was no easy feat, adding that she often had to battle against teenage angst.

She added: ‘It’s a constant battle, but the curfew is there to make sure they’re not up all night and taking in too much blue light’.

Still, the presenter is keen to press on and is adamant it will pay off for their health in the long run.

Meanwhile, she jokingly insisted that her uncompromising ways were simply just tough love.

The news comes as the presenter recently unveiled she was heading a brand new TV show called ‘Sunshine Getaways with Amanda Lamb’ on Channel 5.

The series, which first aired in January, stars Amanda alongside presenter and ex JLS singer JB Gill, as well as DJ and presenter Sam Pinkham.

In the show, the contestants are made to battle it out as they scour the UK in search of the best and sunniest holiday homes to rent.

Taking to her Instagram page, Amanda wrote: ‘New Year. new show… “Sunshine Getaways with Amanda Lamb” starts tonight in @channel5_tv at 6pm.

‘I had the best of times filming this with the glorious @jbgill and some bloke called @sampinkham.

‘I hope you all enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it… it’s the perfect thing to watch in a day like today’.

However the property expert and former model recently opened up about the challenges of juggling a hectic filming schedule with family life.

Discussing her 2022 TV series The Saved and Remade Workshop with the Daily Express, she revealed how much she missed her loved ones during days away on set.

She said filming the show – which challenges skilled carpenters to revamp old family heirlooms – often left her in tears.

She shared: ‘I think it was a kind of double whammy. I was super tired because I was filming Holiday Homes in the Sun, as well as this [show] back to back – so I had barely any time at home.

‘So whenever there was anything to do with children, or animals, or grandads, every morning I’d go in and I’d be putting my makeup on, and I’d be like, “I’m not gonna cry, I’m not gonna cry!”‘
