A controversial Australian influencer has shared an awkward video of her trying to teach her fiancé to be a ‘gentleman’.

In the clip, Christie Swadling, 26, is seen waiting in the passenger seat of their car as her personal trainer partner Joel Price is heard exiting the vehicle off-screen.

As the car door slams and Joel locks the car and walks off, Christie sits in the car waiting as whimsical music plays over the clip.

After a few awkward moments, Joel notices she is still in the car and opens the door for her.

Unclipping her seatbelt, she says ‘thank you, I was waiting’ and hops out.

Christie captioned her video ‘slowing teaching him how to be a gentleman’ along with an angel face emoji.

The influencer’s followers expressed their joy in the comments.

‘Hahahaha can only assume from his silence there may’ve been an eye roll,’ wrote one fan.

‘I’m so sick of teaching them,’ joked another, followed by a laughing emoji.

One follower was not as impressed and decided to make a point about equality in relationships.

‘I’d rather open my own door, I don’t wanna look like an incapable princess especially when it comes to pulling a handle and ousting open a door. I’m an equal I don’t need a guy to open a door for me,’ the commenter wrote.

She shared a post to Instagram claiming her mother had purchased a vehicle on Facebook Marketplace – which turned out to be a lemon.

‘So, this guy has f***ed my mum with a car she bought off him through FB Market. it ended up being a full write-off,’ she began.

She then asked her followers for advice on how to handle the situation.

‘He’s blocked her on everything. What’s our best option, I haven’t contacted him yet.’

‘Breaks my heart as she is a single mum who has only just got back into the workforce. Turns out the part she needed for it they don’t sell anymore because it’s an older model.’

It is generally recommended that buyers always have a vehicle inspected for damage by a certified mechanic before purchasing from a private seller online.
