Thousands without power in NY, NJ amid heavy winds, rain
NEW YORK (PIX11) — Thousands were without power on Wednesday afternoon amid heavy rain and strong winds in New York and New Jersey.
A wind advisory kicked into effect at 11 a.m. It’s set to last until 9 p.m. for portions of the tri-state area.

More than 17,000 customers of various utilities were without power as of Wednesday afternoon. By Wednesday evening, that number was around 20,527.
Below are the current outage numbers, as of 8:45 p.m. Wednesday:
New York:
ConEd: 6,064 customers impacted
PSEG Long Island: 668 customers impacted
Orange & Rockland: 2,049 customers impacted
New Jersey:
PSE&G: 1,663 customers impacted
Jersey Central Power & Light: 3,648 customers impacted
Below are the current outage numbers, as of 6:35 p.m. Wednesday:
New York:
ConEd: 7,926 customers impacted
PSEG Long Island: 1,392 customers impacted
Orange & Rockland: 1,884 customers impacted
New Jersey:
PSE&G: 6,404 customers impacted
Jersey Central Power & Light: 2,921 customers impacted
