Ronquillo shines with 20 points to lift Galeries past Farm Fresh

MANILA, Philippines: France Ronquillo’s career-high of 20 points led the Galeries to its victory against the Farm Fresh Foxies via sweep, 25-18, 25-23, 25-16, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, April 13.

Ronquillo’s 20-point outing was built on 16 attacks, a block, and three aces.

The five-foot-six outside hitter shared that she just wants to contribute to her squad and end their series of losses in the league.

“For me, I just really want to play and I just want to contribute to the team, that’s why I actually did not expect that I made these numbers,” Ronquillo said while looking at the stat sheet.

With one set away to take the victory, the Highrisers held a comfortable four-point lead to take the victory, 20-16.

Galeries continued to assert their dominance as Ronquillo hammered an off-the-block, followed by two back-to-back power hits from RJ Doromal, 24-16.

Ronquillo finally ended the match with a through-the-block hit to seal the Galeries victory, 25-16.

Doromal added 10 markers for the Galeries, while Norielle Ipac and Audrey Paran both registered eight points.

While Farm Fresh relied on Chinnie Arroyo and Trisha Tubu, who made eight markers each.

The Highrisers tallied their third win in the conference via sweep (3-6), while the Foxies suffered their fifth consecutive loss (2-7).
