This ranch in Abu Dhabi trains horses to be movie stars
I was told we’re going horse riding. Oh that sounds nice. Calm, peaceful, relaxing if you die with plenty of desert here. Oh my God. Nope, anything. But I’ve done some silly things in my life, but maybe nothing this silly. So we go to Rahul Ranch where I met Ali Al Amiri who is a horse trainer. Everybody want we want to be here. Just just cameraman. Come this way, go to the camera. I’ve only known him for 5 minutes, but I can already tell that Ali’s the boss today. First thing I know just about him. We’re gonna cut. Cut. Yeah, this guy’s crazy. What are you going to have Bijan doing by the end of the day? It was great. I’m looking forward to it. So really what Ali does is he’ll train these horses for movies. All those old westerns my dad made me watch as a kid. Get 3 coffins ready. People like Ally are behind the scenes telling the horses to run, you know, across the screen or to rear up. They’ll have them circle around. People play dead. Yeah, he can make his horses play dead. Boy. Bye. So the horse here, they can be trained as dogs even more. So if you want to come stand here. Yeah. Just walk that way, for example. And then in. Walk, walk, keep walking. Keep walking. Yeah, You see, you see. The horse will just come and follow. Wow, look at that. It’s so surreal to just walk around and have a horse with no leash on, not enclosed. Just follow you around. Oh, OK Let’s go. And stop, stop, stop. And Nania. Whoa. I almost felt like Clint Eastwood, you know, like you feeling lucky, punk. Damn, that was that was bad. So he went there all day till I tell him to go off and if I touch him on the shoulder he move. There is a really special bond between him and the horses. So much so that the horses will listen to him and do anything and wait there, wait there now. Wow on the mark. Wow, boy. He was even like, Adnan, fix your legs. Get the back legs right. And now back legs. Very good boy. Ali loves those horses and you can tell that they love him. What Ali’s done with Rahul Ranch is he’s turns it into a rescue centre. So he takes in horses that would have otherwise been put down and he trains them up and gives them a new home. You see all these horses here, they all, Nobody wants them. They give up on them. They’re going to going to put them down, you know, sleep, die, you know, because they’re so, so dangerous. So the horses come with a problem. It’ll be fixed in the same day. Rahul Ranch has been in operation since 2005. Ali says he’s rescued hundreds of horses since then. This is Fiad, the stallion I fired the stallion. I’m an hour in and I’m about to get charged by a stallion that I just met named Fiad. What series of unfortunate events led me to this time and this place? Here he comes. Here he comes and he goes, and he goes. So Fiad charges me. Oh, and I thought, well, thank God that’s over. And then I hear my cameraman now saying we got to do it again. So we did it again. Oh, he’s getting pretty close. And again. Oh, oh, oh, oh. He’s coming back. And again and again. I think he’s having fun now. Oh, God. Have you had the stallion charge at you? Probably not. Have you had the stallion charge at you five times in a row? I hope not. Oh, OK. OK, OK, OK. Never doing that again. Come on. Come on. Follow me. Glad I made it out. Oh my gosh.
