Missing out on an opportunity is normal. Fortunately, sometimes a missed opportunity can lead to something better.
When Ekin Cheng and Chin Ka-lok were not able to join the hit Chinese show Call Me By Fire, fans were not happy about that. It was even sadder when half of their friend group was put together in a team. Eventually, it was revealed that Cheng and Chin did get an invitation but had their own reasons for not joining.
Michael Tse, Jerry Lamb, Jordan Chan, Cheng and Chin are known as the “Golden Brothers” by many. All of them have worked on several films together such as Youth and Danger and Golden Job which is where they got their nickname from. Their friendship started after working together and have become good friends, even outside of work. The five of them was once spotted watching a concert together.
Fans were left wondering about Cheng and Chin when news was that only three out of the five were participating in Call Me By Fire. Fans were hoping that the two will join. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. In an interview, Chin shared that he and Cheng had in fact been invited to participate in the show.
The team in charge of the program apparently had the same idea as the fans; they hoped to regather the five “Golden Brothers”. Unfortunately, it was the wrong timing. Cheng and Chin had work commitments in Hong Kong and were not able to participate in filming the first season of the show, according to Hype.my.
Even though the “Golden Boys” wasn’t to be, its absence did make way for the currently popular “Big Bay Area Brothers” group! Edmond Leung and Julian Cheung have balanced the group perfectly and seemed to have formed their own friendship with the other three.
At the moment, the “Big Bay Area Brothers” are filming another show, which resulted in them getting mobbed. It may not be the “Golden Boys” group, but “Big Bay Area Brothers” still have their fandoms!/TISGInternet Explorer Channel Network
