New coin unveiled to honour the Queen

A new coin has been unveiled to honour the late Queen’s seven decades of service.

The Royal Australian Mint has designed the 50 cent piece with the six effigies of the Queen featured on past coins.

Two types of the special edition coin will go on sale at the Mint from Thursday.

The first is a $15 uncirculated 50 cent coin which has a limited mintage of 25,000.

The second is a $135 version of the 50 cent coin where there’s a limited mintage of 7,500 and will be in a capsule and presentation case.
