WATCH: R20m Mercedes-Benz G63 6X6 spotted in SA

Social media was abuzz after one of the world’s 25 right-hand Mercedes-Benz G63 6X6s was spotted in South Africa.

The six-wheeled monster is reportedly one of the ten right-hand Mercedes-Benz G63 6X6s that Brabus converted. Surprisingly, all ten call South Africa home, with the other 15 dotted worldwide.

MONSTROUS MERCEDES-BENZ G63 6X6 SPOTTED IN SA

The car has been trending since RTM Supercars South Africa shared a video of the car on Instagram. RTM posted, “BRABUS 6X6 MONSTER. The Mercedes G63 AMG 6X6, with a price tag of over R20mil & 6 wheels, commands serious road presence.”

The video has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on the internet. Petrolheads have since given it a nod, with many trying to connect the dots about its price tag.

Undoubtedly, the first G63 6×6 was first spotted in South Africa in 2015 and confirmed reports that it had a price tag of R13.5 million. However, the car’s price tag has ballooned over the years due to years of manufacture and trims.

The last listed Mercedes-Benz 6X6 in South Africa had a price tag of R16.9 million. However, it was a 2015 edition. In 2023, social media was abuzz after a Brabus G700 6X6 was spotted in Cape Town. Unconfirmed reports have it that it has a price tag of R19 million.

Rumour mill has it that the trending Mercedes-Benz G63 6X6 has a price tag of over R20 million.

WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL

Some of the Mercedes-Benz G63 6X6’s specs that make it stand above the rest include:

• An AMG-tuned 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine powers most G-Class 6X6
• 760Nm of torque
• 7G-Tronic auto transmission
• Can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds
• 37″ Mud-digging tyres
• Air pressure compressors
• Special suspension

However, this is not the first time a six-wheel car has made headlines. Royal AM owner MaMkhize and Andile Mpisane’s Mercedes-Benz G63 6X6 often make headlines. In recent years, the two have splurged millions on exotic cars that cost a fortune, including the G63 6X6 worth over R20 million.

Over the years, the two have been spotted driving around the monstrous 6X6. MaMkhize’s Mercedes-Benz G63 6X6 often causes traffic disturbances whenever it takes a spin.

Surprisingly, an Orthrus Jeep Wrangler 6X6 was spotted around Johannesburg a few weeks ago. However, the Jeep Wrangler is arguably one of the few Jeep Wrangler 6X6 in South Africa.
