A-League cult hero Jason Cummings has stolen the hearts of football fans after a touching moment he shared with the Central Coast Mariners’ No.1 fan emerged online.
In vision shared on the A-League Twitter page, the Socceroos striker can be seen celebrating with supporter Jake Banks moments after the Mariners booked their spot in the Grand Final after beating Adelaide in front of a sellout crowd at Gosford on May 20.
Banks is a die-hard Mariners supporter dating back many years, and a popular figure on the NSW central coast.
He has cerebral palsy and is restricted to life in a wheelchair, but Banks continues to live his best life.
In heartwarming scenes, Banks and Cummings shared a hug on the pitch before the striker cheekily asks if his good mate plans to have a ‘few bevvies tonight’ [to celebrate].

Cummings can’t wait for the Grand Final against Melbourne City – but like any footballer, wants to win some silverware on the big stage
Banks was previously appointed the Mariners Media Liaison Officer and has labelled the club ‘his family.’
‘They mean everything to me…. the club has been willing to give me the opportunity to do what I do,’ he told Fox Sports.
‘The Mariners, they are like a family to me. ‘It’s just amazing because I have a disability and I couldn’t have asked for much more than what they have given me.
‘I can’t thank them enough for their support.’
Cummings is also ‘buzzing’ ahead of the decider against Melbourne City on June 3 at Sydney’s Commbank Stadium.
He wants silverware as rumours continue to swirl the Scottish born 27-year-old will soon depart the A-League and take up a lucrative opportunity abroad.
‘If you don’t win, it’s pointless,’ he said. ‘Nothing is better than winning trophies. Nothing.’
