New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Wednesday took a dig at the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Speaking at the Navbharat Navnirman Manch 2024 summit, Trivedi said that the Opposition could not understand that Uttar Pradesh is developing under the Yogi Adityanath-led UP government.

In an apparent dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, the BJP MP said that ever since these two boys have come together our road to victory has become more evident.

“These boys of 50 years call themselves youth. They have taken their fathers’ legacies in a very extraordinary way. Rahul Gandhi’s father Rajiv Gandhi got 400 seats and he brought it down to 44, while Akhilesh’s father Mulayam Singh ji got the full majority in UP and made Akhilesh the CM, but his son reduced it to only 57 seats.”

Responding to SP’s allegations of cross-voting in Rajya Sabha polls, Trivedi said that to win polls one should be aware of ground reality and one should admit defeat before showing a fight. He highlighted that the SP allowed 41 votes to Jaya Bachchan and allotted 40 votes to Ramji Lal Suman, so the defeat is evident for the third SP candidate.

The BJP MP also highlighted the achievements of the Yogi government. he said that at one time the state was famous for the manufacturing of country-made pistols and now the state is about to produce BrahMos missiles.
