This is the heartbreaking moment a sobbing nine-year-old boy handed cops a massive bag of methamphetamine he found under his mom’s nightstand.
The youngster locked himself in the bathroom inside the family’s $430,000 Las Vegas home, in the Nevada community of Inspirada, less than 20 miles away from the Las Vegas strip, and Facetimed his father who then called the police.
When officers from the Henderson police department arrived the child tells them, ‘I just saw a couple of bags, pulled it out, and then that’s when I knew what it was.’
Police confirmed that there was more than 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of meth in the bag. The incident took place in July 2022, but the police bodycam footage was released for the first time this week.
Kendra Long, the child’s mom, was arrested on charges of drug trafficking and child abuse. She told the cops that she was not aware of the drugs that were located in her home, and posted $25,000 bail later that day, as per court records, local 8News Now reported.

The officer tells Long, ‘we are here to check on your son.’
Seconds later the boy wearing a backpack is seen on the video stepping towards the officers and handing them a plastic bag filled with white powder.
The boy dressed in short and a t-shirt with no shoes on is seen clutching his iPad and appears shaken.
The second officer asks, ‘Hey, what’s going on. I’m Officer Hansen. Are you scared? What’s going on man? Do you want to take a seat on the bench?’
His mother tells the officer, ‘He’s had my phone in the bathroom for like an hour.’
The boy’s mother then tells officers, ‘I have no idea what that is.’
The officer responds, ‘He just handed it to me.’
She is then heard saying, ‘Ok. I don’t know. I don’t know.’
The officer asks, ‘Is this your child?’
She responds, ‘Yes, he is my baby. He’s been in the bathroom for an hour, literally an hour.’
The officer holds up the bag and says to Long, ‘He was showing Tony this stuff he found in the house.’
She responded, ‘I don’t even know what that is.’
The officer said, ‘Well, I don’t either.’

Long repeated several times that she didn’t know what the white powder in the ziplock bag was. Officer Engle told her, ‘to me it probably look like methamphetamine, you know’
The other officer is seen outside the home trying to console the boy who is sitting on the bench crying.
Officer Hansen asked: ‘What do you find inside the house that made you scared?
The boy said, ‘Drugs.’
The officer then asked, ‘Do you know what drugs look like?’
The boy told the officer, ‘Yeah,’ as he sobbed.
The officer told the child to ‘take some deep breaths.’
He proceeded to the tell the cop: ‘I just saw a couple of bags. I was curious. I just pulled it out and that is when I knew what it was.’
The officer asked, ‘You thought it was drugs like on TV and stuff.’
The boy said, ‘Yeah.’
In the video, officers appear surprised by the amount of meth that was found and after collecting the drugs.
Once they re-entered the home, Long was seated on the staircase as they read her rights before.
She tried and to dispute what the officers were telling her. ‘I can’t even understand or fathom the fact this is drugs that is in my house.’
At one point, she told the cops she didn’t even know what meth was. The officers didn’t seem to believe her.

The boy’s father is seen on the video picking up his son as the officers tell the youngster that they were proud of him and that he did the right thing.
According to Long’s Linkedin profile, she specializes in property management and is the owner of a real estate brokerage firm.
Prosecutors said Long violated a family court order and broke other rules.
Her case was heard in multiple courts including, Henderson Justice Court, Las Vegas Justice Court, and Clark County District Court.
She was sentenced to probation which prosecutors said she violated. She was also sent to an in-patient drug treatment program.
During the legal proceedings, prosecutors showed text messages that revealed that Long was dealing drugs from her home while her son was present.
One of the texts prosecutors showed says, ‘Sure I’m home. You want a $100 bag or half.’
The boy’s parents are divorced and the child is under his father’s care.
Long’s lawyer declined to provide a statement, as per the news outlet.
