Harry Redknapp believes Leandro Trossard ‘doesn’t start as much as he should’ for Arsenal, following his heroics against Bayern Munich.
Arsenal host Aston Villa on Sunday looking to retain their spot at the top of the Premier League table, with just a point separating title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.
Both sides go into the match off the back of epic mid-week games, with the Gunners drawing 2-2 with Bayern in the Champions League, while the Villans beat Lille 2-1 in the Europa Conference League.
While the two clubs want to succeed in Europe, their domestic form must be of paramount importance, with Arsenal gunning for the title and Villa aiming to beat Tottenham to a top four spot.
Mikel Arteta’s side fell 2-1 behind against the German giants, with Trossard levelling the tie just 10 minutes after coming off the bench, having also scored against Porto in the last-16.
The Belgian has scored 13 times this season, but only 18 of his 38 appearances have come from the start, owing to Arsenal’s rather impressive forward options.
Former Spurs manager Redknapp thinks the 29-year-old should be trusted to lead the line, tipping him as the ‘one to watch’ when Villa visit the Emirates.

‘I really like Leandro Trossard, he probably doesn’t start as much as he should,’ he told BetVictor.
‘That being said, he always makes a big impact when he comes on as a sub! Whether it’s on his right or left foot, he’s such a great finisher.’
As for the match itself, Redknapp is backing the Gunners to retain their place at the top of the table, adding: ‘That game against Bayern Munich was fantastic. Arsenal were surprisingly poor at the back but going forward, I thought they were excellent.
‘Bukayo Saka in particular was brilliant and caused them so many problems. I loved the feet from Gabriel Jesus for the second as well, that was brilliant!
‘Aston Villa did alright on Thursday night, but Unai Emery probably would have wanted a larger lead to take to France. Villa just don’t seem to be at their best right now – I worry that they’ve ran out of steam.
‘I’ve got to favour Arsenal here, particularly with Villa playing on Thursday night. Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Aston Villa.’
