A bowling alley and bar is inviting visitors to sip cocktails, bowl a few strikes, and hang out with their favourite four-legged friend.
Dog Bowl, an offshoot of the Black Dog Ballroom, is a New York inspired speakeasy, with a bowling alley and casual diner, which encourages well-behaved dogs on the premises.
In a post shared to Instagram the bar said: “We love it when you bring your dogs in, and we love it even more when you take photos of them at the venue.”
They have 10 bowling lanes, and the business also teamed up with Northern Quarter stalwart NQ64 to bring a smaller version of the gamer’s paradise to their alley, with a selection of retro arcade games that operate on an old-fashioned token system.
Food is also available, and is classically American in theme, with hot dog, burgers and pizza all being served.
Dog Bowl also offers a vast array of drinks, with Happy Hour taking place 4pm to 8pm Monday to Friday, with a pint of lager or cider for £3, a bottle of wine for £10 or selected bottles for £3.
They also offer a selection of cocktails inspired by places across the globe for only £4, including a version of the classic Espresso Martini called ‘The Washington’, and a twist on an Aperol Spritz that includes Aperol, Irn Bru, Prosecco and Bloody Orange.
The spot has proved to be an enduringly popular addition to the bustling Northern Quarter scene, with customers enthusing that they can bring their whole family- dogs included of course- along for the fun.
Christianne Flavinne commented: “We had a great time and were able to take our pooch with us.
“A fantastic range of cocktails and other drinks available. The décor is unique and interesting with a wide selection of arcade games.”
Jack Heeley added: “Came in with friends, kids and a dog, really welcoming.
We had burgers, fries and the kids had pizza and it all tasted really good. Some cool retro arcade games too which the kids loved.”
