The six-part series sees McClure play officer Lana Washington, alongside Adrian Lester as Joel Nutkins, and their struggles on the front line.

This is Going to Hurt

Based on the bestselling memoir by Adam Kay, This is Going to Hurt follows Kay’s experience training as a junior doctor for the NHS.

Ben Wishaw, who most recently appeared in No Time to Die, stars in this simultaneously tragic and uplifting adaptation.

Derry Girls Season 3

The third and final series of the smash-hit comedy series is back on our screens for the first time since 2019.

A teaser clip released in December shows the gang in an altercation with armed police, but further details about what this season has in store are limited.

However, if it’s anything like its predecessors, the much-loved show will certainly go out with a bang.

Everything I Know About Love

Dolly Alderton’s memoir Everything I Know About Love made waves with readers after its release, and the series is set to be no different.

Capturing the millennial experience of navigating your 20s in London, the adaptation of the 2018 hit book stars Bel Powley and Emma Appleton in a hilarious yet heartbreakingly familiar exploration of adult friendships.

Where: BBC One.

House of the Dragon

The Game of Thrones prequel, starring Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy, is set 200 years before the events of the world-famous series and follows the story of House Targaryen.

Miguel Sapochnik, the director behind the award-nominated episode “The Long Night” featured in the final series of Game of Thrones will be a showrunner and executive producer, so we’re in good hands.

If it’s anything like the original show, we can expect lots of gore, wild action scenes, and some astonishing turns.

The Responder

The latest police drama to hit our screens is set to focus on the emotional turmoil of life as a cop, following Chris (Martin Freeman) on a series of night shifts in Liverpool.

The five-episode series will see characters pushed to their limits, in what Freeman has called an “exhilarating” production experience.

A trailer for the show came out in November, indicating we can expect a release date soon…

Where: BBC Two.

When: Early 2022.

Conversations with Friends

Following the success of series Normal People, Sally Rooney’s debut novel Conversations with Friends has also been pinched by the BBC and Hulu for an adaptation.

The story follows two lovers-turned-best friends Frances and Bobbi who befriend a married couple, played by Joe Alwyn and Sex Education actress Jemima Kirke.

Things quickly spiral, with all four of them becoming tangled in each other’s messes. The 12-part series also has the author as an executive producer, so expectations are high.
