Viewers of The Apprentice: You’re Fired! have spotted an ‘awkward’ BBC edit of axed contestant Dr Asif Munaf on the spin-off-show.

Dr Munaf – who owns his own wellness brand – became the latest candidate to be fired by Lord Sugar on Thursday.

Last month, it emerged he made a series of ‘anti-Jewish’ online posts, including calling Zionism a ‘satanic cult’ in the aftermath of Hamas ‘ murderous October 7 attacks and calling Zionists ‘odiously ogre-like’.

Munaf has been on appearing on the current series of the BBC1 show but the BBC edited him out of last night’s You’re Fired! companion show amid huge pressure from Jewish community groups over the posts.

The fired candidate normally joins the show to give their thoughts on the process.

But host Tom Allen appeared to awkwardly explain that Dr Munaf would not be joining the show.

He stated: ‘Now, fired candidate Asif Munaf won’t be joining us tonight. Here’s the moment he left the process.’ A clip then showed the doctor being fired by Sir Alan Sugar.

Allen also mentioned Dr Munaf towards the end of the show, adding: ‘Now of course, Asif wasn’t able to join us tonight on You’re Fired but Lord Sugar has made his decision.’

Fans took to social media to identify the edit. Jonathan Mruczek posted on X/Twitter: ‘Awkward edit on you’re fired #TheApprentice.’

A second person wrote: ‘@bbcapprentice why bother even broadcasting tonight’s You’re Fired? The whole point of the show is to talk to the fired candidate @tomallencomedy #TheApprentice #YoureFired’

James O’Donnell wrote: ‘That was a dodgy edit about Asif not being on You’re Fired. #TheApprentice.’

A final person said: ‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired is indeed going to be awkward for the BBC now .’

Dr Munaf was sent on an equalities training course after the BBC was alerted to his tweets once filming had concluded.

The corporation said had the posts been there before filming, he would not have been included in the show.

Two weeks ago, he also wrote that the ‘Zionist mask is falling’ and accused Israel of weaponizing the Holocaust to ‘push another fascist ideology’.

A spokesman for The Apprentice said earlier this month: ‘After filming had taken place, we were made aware of concerns over social media posts that Asif had made after he had left the process.

‘As soon as we were alerted, we took immediate action and spoke to Asif in detail on this. Asif took part in specialised training to understand why his posts may cause offence.’

Dr Munaf insisted ‘it was not my intention to offend anyone’, and added: ‘The beliefs I hold and have shared are based on the values that I was brought up with.’

The Apprentice star also hit out at the BBC, claiming ‘they did me dirty’ after the broadcaster dropped him from the spin-off show.

His now defunct University of Masculinity was also criticised for its controversial postings and retweeting posts by controversial influencer Andrew Tate.

In one post about women, he reportedly asked: ‘Have you ever met a beautiful feminist?’
