USC women’s basketball is staying put in the latest AP Top 25 poll, heading into the final week of the regular season. The Trojans remain at No. 7 overall for the second straight week, and are in the top ten for the fourth straight week. They are also the second-highest ranked AP Top 25 team among Pac-12 schools, only behind Stanford.

Despite losing on Sunday 74-68 to Utah, the Trojans managed to maintain their current spot in the rankings. The loss did cost them a shot at winning the Pac-12 regular season title, but they will keep their spot in the top ten. It also broke their seven-game winning streak.

Even with the loss to Utah, USC did help themselves by defeating No. 13 Colorado 87-81 last Friday as JuJu Watkins put in a massive 42 point performance.

The Trojans currently hold a 21-5 overall record and an 11-5 Pac-12 record. They rank third in the Pac-12 standings, and are in a strong spot heading into March.

For the Trojans to keep their spot or move up the rankings after the final regular season week, they’ll want to get wins this week in both of their games versus Arizona and Arizona State. USC will be on the road, but they also are facing two unranked teams who also do not have winning conference records.

Considering this and the fact that USC already has beaten both of these teams, they will be expected to get these wins.
