Iconic Come Dine With Me contestant Indy Nijjar has died at the age of 50.
The Channel 4 star has been remembered by his loved ones in the wake of his death, with one paying tribute to the late fitness coach and tattoo artist, from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, on social media.
Indy made a big impression with Come Dine With Me fans when he appeared on the show back in 2011, hosting a memorable summer-themed dinner party and requesting his guest attend the soiree in swimwear.
Not stopping there with his unique take on hosting, viewers watched as Indy fetched his shopping in from his quad bike before serving up his culinary creation. His meal of asparagus and ham toad in the hole, beef in a red wine and chilli sauce, and Indian Kulfi was a hit with his guests and he finished up in second place at the end of the week.
“I can’t believe one of the strongest men I know has been taken from us… this guy would help anyone out and has helped a lot of people with their problems,” they wrote as they honoured their late friend online. “Inspired me as a young kid… when I found out the news this morning it broke my heart, you’re gonna be missed by so many brother.”
Another wrote: “He helped so many people from all walks of life. My deepest condolences to his son, family and all the literally thousands of people who knew him. RIP matey.” Indy was also hailed as inspirational by one mourner, who mused: “This guy would help anyone out and has helped a lot of people with their problems whilst he had his own.”

“Inspired me as a young kid I looked up to all you boys growing up and when I found out the news this morning it broke my heart, you’re gonna be missed by so many brother, big love and I send my condolences to your family/friends you’ll never be forgotten.”
Away from appearing on Come Down With Me, Indy ran a local tattoo parlour Indy N Ink, while also working as a fitness coach at the Oasis Health Club gym. “Believe. Ask. Tune in. Receive. God loves You – I am a tattoo artist, a fitness coach, a family man and a lover of God and All that Is. I believe x,” Indy’s bio reads on his Instagram page.
One of the late star’s final posts on Instagram hinted Indy was in “pain”. A picture of a t-shirt with a smiley face logo scrupled up on a couch, turning the face more into a grimace, was captioned: “Even the geez on the sofa feeling ma Pain.”
