Local tourism bureau selling low-cost eclipse glasses
WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Two months from today, America will be watching a total solar eclipse.
Trumbull County is right along the main path for being in an area of total darkness during the middle of the afternoon.
The Trumbull County Tourism Bureau has thousands of eclipse glasses to help you watch it safely. It’s selling them six for $5 while supplies last.
It’s not safe to look directly at the sun without specialized eye protection.
“We wanted to make sure that we did have glasses that were NASA-approved. It’s really important. There are a lot of fakes out there that people are trying to make money on and one of the most important safety factors is making sure everybody has the appropriate eye care,” said Trumbull County Tourism Director Beth Kotwis Carmichael.
You can buy the glasses Monday through Friday during normal business hours at the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau.
