A day prior to their much-awaited clash against arch-rivals India, Pakistan announced their 12-man squad for their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup opener.
The veteran middle-order batters Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik are also in the fray for the mouth-watering clash against India.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam, his deputy Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman hold the key at the top of the order. The bowling, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hasan Ali, looks potent to trouble any opposition in the Super 12 stage.

Pakistan will be eager to end their winless streak against India.
India has never lost a World Cup game to Pakistan in either the one-day or T20 formats. But Pakistan is unbeaten in six T20s at the stadium dating back to 2016.
Pakistan come into the Super 12s contest with 10 wins in a row in the United Arab Emirates.
On the other hand, for the Indian players, the UAE has become like a second home in cricket terms and they’re familiar with the slow nature of pitches. The second half of the T20 Indian Premier League was played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, resuming last month after being suspended mid-year.
Based on that experience, Virat Kohli’s India squad has been loaded with four spin bowlers — Ravichandran Ashwin, Varun Chakravarthy, Ravindra Jadeja and Rahul Chahal — aiming to clamp down any power-hitters in the opposition ranks.
