Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis Launches FF7 Rebirth Crossover
- Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis has launched a crossover event to commemorate the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
- The initiative includes a Rebirth story campaign starring Cloud and Sephiroth.
- The event also offers time-limited opportunities for obtaining in-game currency and items.
A Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover event kicked off in Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis on February 16. This development arrives mere weeks ahead of the much-anticipated RPG’s release, as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is scheduled to launch on February 29.
Created by Japanese studio Applibot in collaboration with Square Enix, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is a free-to-play gacha game that serves as an abridged compilation of the FF7 timeline. It was originally released on Android and iOS devices on September 7 before making its way to Steam exactly three months later. The game has enjoyed a consistent stream of updates since its mobile debut.

Final Fantasy 7 and Persona Marketing Tactic May Start an Industry-Wide Pattern
The Final Fantasy and Persona franchises don’t have too much in common, though there’s one shared marketing tactic that could soon become a pattern.
The latest such content drop arrives in the form of a crossover event meant to commemorate the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Starting February 16, Ever Crisis players can partake in a new campaign inspired by the second entry in the FF7 remake trilogy, in addition to taking advantage of a Rebirth-themed banner draw. The latter features Guide Uniform, an exclusive piece of gear for Tifa, as well as new Red XIII gear called The Hellhound.
FF7 Rebirth Crossover Event in Ever Crisis Stars Some Familiar Faces
Meanwhile, the crossover campaign starring Cloud Strife and Sephiroth promises to offer a unique perspective on some of the events from the Compilation of Final Fantasy 7. It will do so through a series of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth videos featuring Cloud and Sephiroth advancing toward Mt. Nibel. Tifa is also present in the campaign, although it remains to be seen how much screen time she actually got.
The new Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis event includes some time-limited opportunities to grab in-game currency and other goodies. One of them arrives in the form of 1,000 Blue Crystals available as daily login rewards until Sunday, February 18, at 11:59am PT. Another one includes free Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth-themed x10 Weapon Draws, which will be available daily until March 3, at 5:59pm PT. Completing all event missions by that date will also net Ever Crisis players an extra 3,000 Blue Crystals. An identical award awaits those who log into the game for 15 days by 11:59am PT on March 6.
The latest Ever Crisis crossover event launched shortly after Square Enix debuted the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo on the PS Store. Aside from widespread praise from the fandom, the trial version of the game has already received the promise of a major content update, which is scheduled to drop on February 21. While it is fairly unusual for developers to revise game demos, Square Enix has already set a precedent for that with Episode Duscae, a vertical slice of Final Fantasy 15 that was released and subsequently updated in 2015.
