Shooting For Director Bala's Vanangaan Wrapped Up

Actor Arun Vijay, who plays the lead in director Bala’s much-awaited film Vanangaan late on Friday announced that the unit had completed the shooting of the film.

Taking to his X timeline, Arun Vijay, who is considered to be one of the most hardworking actors in the Tamil film industry, posted a series of pictures shot on the final day of shooting for the film.

He also wrote, “It’s a wrap for #Vanangaan! Thank you Bala sir, it has been an honour and privilege to have worked with you, a truly priceless experience. Feeling the exhilaration on the completion of an extraordinary character in a project very close to my heart. Thank you to my producer Suresh Kamatchi sir and the wonderful team.@thondankani @DirectorMysskin”

The Teaser of Vanangaan

Earlier this year, in February, the unit of the film released a teaser. The teaser featured Arun Vijay, who, despite not uttering a single word, communicates quite a lot through his expressions. The teaser also featured other cast members including Roshni Prakash, Samuthirakani and Mysskin.

The film’s producer, Suresh Kamatchi V, had then posted “Director Bala Anna makes films in a way that appeals to people in the best possible way, keeping in mind the fact that stories come with a strong message… We are putting forth a good movie in front of you. Here is the teaser of Vanagan…”

Written by Bala, Vanangaan is produced by Suresh Kamatchi’s V House Productions. The film’s cast includes Ridha, Chhaya Devi, Bala Sivaji, Shanmugarajan, Yohan Chacko, Kavitha Gopi, Brindha Sarathy, Mai Pa Narayanan, Aruldas and Munish Sivagurunath among others.

Suriya Out Of Vanangaan

In 2022, director Bala had announced that actor Suriya and his production house 2D Entertainment had backed out of Vanangaan. In a statement, Bala said that though he wished to direct Vanangaan with ‘his younger brother Suriya’, the changes in the story had made him question if it will be suitable for the actor. The film was set to be their third collaboration after Nandha in 2001 and Pithamagan in 2003. Arun Vijay was cast as the lead of the film after Suriya backed out.
