Swan River mystery: Man's body pulled from water near Perth's Crown Casino

The body of a man has been pulled from the Swan River near Crown Casino in Perth.

Emergency crews were called just after noon on Wednesday after a member of the public made the grim discovery in Burswood.

The man was declared dead at the scene. He had no obvious signs of injury.

He was founding floating near the shoreline right near the water sports centre.

“Police attended, retrieved the deceased and now inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the death, which is currently being treated as an undetermined death,” WA Police said in a statement.

Detectives are now combing the water and nearby river bank.

It is unclear how long the man’s body had been in the water and his identity is not yet known.
