Nationals Leader David Littleproud admitted he made a “mistake” in his breach of parliamentary rules after a trip to the Gold Coast.
David Littleproud contravened parliamentary laws by claiming taxpayer-funded expenses for a private visit to the Gold Coast, days after settlement of his $1.375m Surfers Paradise apartment.
“The difference between a Gold Coast flight and a Brisbane flight is a couple hundred dollars – that’s why we thought that you could go to either port – I made a mistake,” Mr Littleproud said.

“The only thing that I did wrong was I came to the wrong port; I came to Brisbane rather than the Gold Coast.
“I admit that and I put my hand up but I wasn’t aware that was wrong.”
