Svindal auf Klammers Spuren - Kinofilm "Aksel" im November

Franz Klammer musste 45 Jahre auf einen Film über seine große Skikarriere warten. Jener über Aksel Lund Svindal kommt hingegen nur zweieinhalb Jahre nach dem Rücktritt des erfolgreichen Norwegers in die Kinos. “Aksel” heißt die Dokumentation über den erfolgreichen Rennläufer, die am 12. November in Österreich und Italien sowie Anfang Dezember in Deutschland in die Kinos kommt und die am Freitag beim Weltcup-Auftakt in Sölden mit drei Clips präsentiert wurde.

Und zwar im Beisein des 2019 zurückgetreten Doppel-Olympia- und Weltcup-Gesamtsiegers sowie fünffachen Weltmeisters, der mit einer Medien-Akkreditierung um den Hals im Söldener Freizeitzentrum auftrat. Die Doku hat zwar einen Schwerpunkt auf den letzten Karriere-Jahren, beginnt aber schon in der Kindheit und zeigt auch nahe Behind-the-Scenes-Themen aus den frühen Jahren Svindals, der als Achtjähriger nach dem Tod seiner Mutter zum Halbwaisen geworden war.

Insgesamt hat das Team von “Field Productions” Svindals Familie und das norwegische Skiteam von 2015 bis zum Karriereende 2019 hautnah begleitet. “Wir sind sehr glücklich, dass wir daran teilhaben durften”, sagt Regisseur Filip Christensen in einer Presseaussendung. Begonnen habe das Projekt einfach mit Filmereien über Svindal. “Das Ding ist dann immer größer und größer geworden”, berichtete der Ex-Rennfahrer in Sölden. “Ich denke, es ist am Ende auch ein cooler Film über den Abfahrtsrennsport geworden.”

In der 1:50 Stunden langen Doku beeindrucken tatsächlich auch die Szenen der schweren Stürze und Verletzungen sowie die Wiederauferstehung des Siegers von 36 Weltcuprennen. 2007 hatte sich Svindal in Beaver Creek so schwere Wunden zugefügt, dass innere Verletzungen befürchtet worden waren. Ein Jahr später gewann er auf der gefürchteten Birds of Prey gleich sein Comebackrennen.

“Dabei hat im Training der ganze Körper geschrien, mach das nicht”, erinnerte sich Svindal im Film. “Aber eine zweite Stimme sagte, das ist ein Test, den du bestehen musst, wenn du weitermachen willst.” In dem Wissen, dass bei einer Fortsetzung seiner Karriere noch mehr passieren könne, habe er sich gesagt: “Lieber später aufhören als zu früh und es dann bereuen.”

Ähnlich lief es nach dem Sturz und der Knieverletzung 2016 in Kitzbühel. “Skifahren ist mein Lebensinhalt. Ich versuche es, bis es unmöglich ist”, hatte er sich damals trotz allem gesagt.

Der Ex-Rennläufer hatte den gesamten Film, den es auf Norwegisch und Deutsch mit englischen Untertiteln gibt, bis Freitagabend zwei Mal angeschaut. “Mein Gesicht auf einer riesen Leinwand zu sehen, ist wirklich speziell.”

Vor dem ersten Mal sei er aber sehr nervös gewesen. “Denn da kommen viele Erinnerungen zurück”, gestand er ein, dass ihn manche Szenen ziemlich mitgenommen hatten. “Ich bin sehr müde geworden, es hat mir zugesetzt und ich war bei einigen Momenten froh, dass ich aufgehört habe.” Gewisse Krankenhaus-Szenen hatte er überhaupt zum ersten Mal zu sehen bekommen.

“Ich hoffe, dass dieser Film nicht nur unterhalten und inspirieren, sondern auch hinter den Kulissen das Ausmaß dessen beleuchtet kann, was es braucht, um ein Top-Athlet zu sein”, wünscht sich Svindal. Vom Klammer-Film wisse er und werde ihn sich auch ansehen. “Ich habe mit Franz auch schon gesprochen. Ich glaube, er freut sich auch schon auf meinen Film.” Die Klammer Doku “Klammer – Chasing the Line” kommt schon am 28. Oktober in die Kinos.
