MANILA, Philippines: Defending champion Creamline was no match against sister team Choco Mucho as it posted a relatively easy 25-17, 25-22, 25-19 victory Thursday night, April 18, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Creamline fends off Choco Mucho in straight sets
Tots Carlos led the Cool Smashers with 21 points on 18 attacks, and three blocks while Alyssa Valdez and Jeanette Panaga added 11 points each.
Creamline guarded the net well and tallied 14 block points while Choco Mucho only had five.
With the win, the Cool Smashers extended their winning streak against the Flying Titans to 12 games since 2019.
Sisi Rondina was the sole double-digit scorer for Choco Mucho, tallying 17 points all on attacks.
Issa Molde added nine points for Choco Mucho.
Creamline and Choco Mucho now have identical 8-2 records. Trailing behind them in the team standings are PLDT, Petro Gazz and Chery Tiggo at 7-2 apiece.
Choco Mucho’s next assignment is Farm Fresh on Tuesday, April 23, while Creamline will next face PLDT on Thursday, April 25.
