Manchester United will miss out on both the Champions League and the Europa League as they’re predicted to settle for the UEFA Europa Conference League, a supercomputer has predicted.
United’s pre-season hopes of challenging for the Premier League title were shattered after a two-month slump saw them fall away from the title race and left with the difficult task of salvaging a position in the top four.
A place in the Champions League isn’t off the cards for Ralf Rangnick’s side as their win over Brentford in midweek took them within two points of West Ham who currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League table.
The bettingexpert.com supercomputer predicts that Tottenham, currently one point ahead, will snatch the final spot in the elite European competition.
Surprisingly, it sees West Ham suffer another blip and fall down the table behind the Reds as they continue their quest in the Europa League.
With Man City in a seemingly unassailable position, they have been predicted to be crowned champions at the end of the season.
Despite Watford’s efforts in the January transfer window, it has been said that they will fail to beat the drop and return to the Championship along with Norwich.
Burnley’s time in the Premier League has also been predicted to come to an end as Sean Dyche’s side currently sit at the foot of the table.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are expected to do the unthinkable and survive the drop, despite currently sitting in the bottom three with just one win so far this season.
The supercomputer’s prediction paints a worrying outlook for United as they edge towards a change in guard in the summer, and the next permanent manager will have to rethink their transfer possibilities should the Reds miss out on the top four – with a midfield addition the priority.
