Ohio State Declared Rookie Of The Year U After Another Former Buckeye Wins The Award

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been producing some top-tier talent in the past decade. Many of their former players have been drafted highly and had great NFL careers. Recently, the Buckeyes have been dominating the Rookie of the Year award. This year was no different, as former quarterback C.J. Stroud won the honor last night. It extended an impressive run for the university.

In six of the past eight years, a former Buckeye has won the Rookie of the Year award.

• 2016: Joey Bosa
• 2017: Marshon Lattimore

This is an impressive pipeline of talent coming from one school. These players are not one-hit wonders, either. Joey Bosa and Chase Young are the ones who have struggled the most, but a big part of that is injuries. The dominance of the award should be a source of pride, but it also highlights the failures of the Buckeyes.

Lack Of Championships

The Buckeyes have won the Big Ten Conference four times since 2016. However, they have no national championships to show for it. Considering the amount of talent that has been in the program, it is shocking the team wasn’t able to beat out the best in the nation. While they have made the playoffs in four of those seasons, it always ended in a loss.

Ohio State should continue to send quality players to the NFL. Marvin Harrison Jr. has a great chance to keep the streak going with a huge rookie season. The Buckeyes also have plenty of talent coming in who could win the award during their rookie year.
