Anton, who has replaced long-standing judge Bruno Tonioli, took his seat on the panel alongside Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood, with viewers quick to comment on how ‘proud’ they are of the star.
The 55-year-old, who was previously the show’s longest serving pro dancer, looked in his element as he arrived in the group dance suited and booted and wearing sunglasses.
And Strictly fans said that the star was a totally natural fit and that they couldn’t wait to see him in action.

One said: “I’ve had a couple of proseccos BUT I’m so proud of Anton Du Beke we really are living in this moment.”
Another added: “I have an unaccountable but sincere love for Anton Du Beke.”
Meanwhile, a third said: “Yay Strictly’s back! Great to have Anton Du Beke as judge.”
Previously speaking about his new role as a judge, Anton revealed his excitement.
The dad-of-two said: “I can’t tell you how happy I am. It is such an honour to have been asked.”
“Everyone knows how much I love the show. Having been there since the beginning, I have seen the show develop and grow.”
He continued:“It is just a joy and a pleasure to be involved with.”
Opening up about what he will bring to the show and the type of judge he’ll be, Anton, who also stood in for a couple of episodes last year, explained: “I am going to be as I was last year.”
“I’m going to be positive and encouraging, because they aren’t going to get much of that from the other end of the desk…” he joked, poking fun at acid-tongued Craig.
And in the lead-up to the glitzy launch, Anton took to Twitter to thank his fans for their support ahead of his night.
He told his followers: “My loves, I’m starting the best desk job in the business tonight…”
Anton continued: “Simply over the moon to be taking a seat alongside Shirley, Craig & Motsi – #TheJudges – just tremendous! #Strictly2021 here we come!”
