BBC Breakfast star Dan, 44, and his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova were kept in the competition and have got closer to getting their hands on the Glitterball trophy as Tilly Ramsay was eliminated from the competition.
Dan’s time on the show has been met with cruel criticism from some viewers, with a small amount claiming the series is “fixed”.
One wrote: “Dan is just this years joke act that gets voted through every year because they want to fix the top acts for the final. AJ & Kai should have been in bottom & gone when they did their passo #Strictly”.

Another added: “Why is everyone surprised that Dan Walker is still in Strictly? Have you not seen who is prime minister? We are living in strange times. Anything is possible.”
While a third said: “I am really starting to get sick of Dan getting such high praise for doing the bare minimum and going through” followed by an eye rolling emoji.
But the TV star, who recently revealed he’s been secretly voting for rival Rose Ayling-Ellis, hit back with a defiant tweet.
Dan wrote: “Thank you to everyone who is sending lovely messages & enjoying us having fun on #Strictly and to the few who say…
““Just leave” “Aren’t you ashamed?” “You’re a disgrace” “It’s a fix” (which I don’t get) or “Who is voting for them?”
“IT’S A TV SHOW! See you in the 1/4 finals” he said followed by a laughing face emoji.
Dan was soon inundated with messages to defend the star as one said: “Congratulations both. Your dancing makes me smile and the genuine joy on your faces was priceless. I cheered and whooped and very much look forward to seeing you again next week”.
As radio presenter Rachel Burden added: “Go @mrdanwalker! So many people tell me they love this guy and it’s all about the joy of seeing someone COMPLETELY out of their comfort zone.”
To which Dan replied: “Thank you Rachel and don’t worry… we intend to enjoy every second of it
“I thought I’d be off in week 2 or 3 and here we are in the QFs Very thankful for the support.”
And a third said: “All the ‘who is voting for Dan?’ I am! He’s never danced before and is improving – surely that’s what it’s about? Also @mrdanwalker is a b***dy nice man!”
Later, Dan also posted a touching tribute to Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Tilly after she was voted off the show.
He wrote: “Tilly Ramsey is wonderful. She fills every room with smiles & kindness & her partnership with Nikita is beautiful.
“Her attitude throughout has been a real example & she’s a gorgeous dancer – especially when you consider she’d hardly ever worn heels before this started!”
