PHLPost presents centenarian stamp to JPE
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) has presented the centenarian personalized stamp to Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile.
PHLPost Postmaster General Luis Carlos gave the centenarian personalized stamp and commemorative cover to Enrile, who celebrated his 100th birthday at Malacañang on Feb. 14.
“Living to 100 years old is one of life’s greatest achievements, and definitely a milestone worth celebrating. We pay tribute to JPE whose political career has spanned over six decades,” Carlos said. “His collective wisdom and experience is an inspiration to us all.”
The centenarian stamp placed in one sheet shows four different photos of Enrile in se-tenant type of stamps. The first photograph was taken in 1948 at St. James Academy High School followed by a photo when he was the justice secretary, defense chief and his current photo as chief presidential legal counsel.
PHLPost said Enrile’s family had requested for several copies of the stamps.
The agency said honoring Enrile with a personalized stamp and commemorative cover was based on Republic Act 1026 or the Centenarian Act of 2016, which honors and grants privileges to Filipino centenarians.
