Vom Spitzenspiel im warmen Palermo – die Frauen-Fussball-Nati besiegte Italien 2:1 – ins kalte Vilnius. Bei eisigen Temperaturen stand das sechste WM-Quali-Spiel an, auf Kunstrasen bei Gegner Litauen. Der Temperaturschock sei kein Problem, sagte Coumba Sow im Vorfeld, auch wenn sie ein Gfrörli sei. Dass Sow mit dieser Aussage nicht falsch lag, zeigte sich sofort, die Schweizerinnen machten von Beginn weg das Spiel. Und es dauerte nicht mal 2 Minuten, bis das Team von Trainer Nils Nielsen in Führung ging. Es war ein Billard- und Eigentor, mitbeteiligt: Coumba Sow.

Das Heimspiel gegen die Litauerinnen Mitte September hatte die Nati noch 4:1 gewonnen, da trafen ebenfalls Sow, Alisha Lehmann, Svenja Fölmli und Ramona Bachmann. Letztgenannte reiste nicht mit nach Litauen, da sie gesperrt war. In Vilnius reihte sich auch Rahel Kiwic in die Torschützenliste ein, sie traf in der 11. Minute zum 2:0. Ganz untätig waren die Gastgeberinnen aber auch nicht. In der 16. Minute musste erstmals Torhüterin Gaëlle Thalmann eingreifen und einen gefährlichen Weitschuss parieren.

Danach ging der Einbahnstrassenfussball weiter, alles Richtung litauisches Tor. In der 31. Minute war es Sow, die nun selber traf, dieses Mal per Kopf. Die Nati zeigte immer wieder schöne Kombinationen, es zeigte sich, dass das Team sehr gut harmonisiert und fast perfekt eingespielt ist. So war auch das 4:0 durch Ana Maria Crnogorcevic in der 34. Minute der Schlusspunkt einer Ballstafette. Für die Bernerin war es der 67. Nati-Treffer. Nur drei Minuten später stand Sow sträflich alleine und schob zum 5:0 ein. Und das muntere Toreschiessen hatte vor dem Pausentee noch kein Ende, Riola Xhemaili traf auch noch (40.), die Litauerinnen waren komplett überfordert.

Neue Spielerinnen durften ran

War in den ersten vier WM-Quali-Partien die Chancenauswertung noch ein Schwachpunkt, liess die Nati in Vilnius in den ersten 45 Minuten nichts anbrennen. In der zweiten Halbzeit bekamen Noëlle Maritz, Lia Wälti und Eseosa Aigbogun eine Pause, Rachel Rinast, Sandrine Mauron und Lara Marti kamen in die Partie. Dadurch wurde der Spielfluss etwas gebremst. Zwar waren es immer noch die Schweizerinnen, die den Ton angaben, aber sie agierten zu Beginn etwas weniger zwingend. So dauerte es doch bis zur 61. Minute, bis Fölmli das 7:0 gelang.

Zwar spielten die Schweizerinnen weiterhin stetig nach vorne, doch der letzte Biss fehlte – kein Wunder bei dieser komfortablen Führung. So liess auch die zuvor starke Trefferquote etwas nach, die Nati verschenkte einige mögliche Tore. So blieb es beim klaren 7:0-Sieg.
