'I'm doing this for me' Kerry Katona shares dramatic results from surgery for hooded eyes

It is the surgical procedure du jour and Kerry Katona has jumped on board to fix her droopy hooded eyelids at 43.

The mum of five recorded her journey throughout the process so people could see what exactly is involved in the procedure

In one, she says ‘I’m doing this for me’ and to be fair, she looks more excited rather than nervous at the idea of having surgery. In her first video, she shows how droopy and closed her eyes appear before meeting her surgeon, Mr Ravaghan.

Kerry Katona – Eye Rejuvenation

Kerry Katona is generally very open about cosmetic procedures and her efforts to look better and feel more confident. The former singer opted to have two procedures – a brow lift and upper blepharoplasty – at the clinic in the UK that she visited for a rejuvenating eye look.

Not everyone needs the brow lift which (at Kerry Katona’s clinic) costs in the region of €4.6k, and the blepharoplasty can be the solo treatment. At the clinic, this costs around €5.18k while the two combined cost €7.24k. The blepharoplasty treatment Kerry had is a regular surgery here in Ireland and because it is an outpatient process, it’s becoming more and more popular.

Upper Blepharoplasty

An upper blepharoplasty used to be a lengthier procedure that was done under a general anaesthetic and required a few days stay in hospital. That is no longer the case, today the procedure is done under a local anaesthetic and the patient may be lightly sedated but still awake.

It’s this fact that is making it such a popular procedure because everyone wants to fix sagging ageing eyes but they don’t want to be knocked out to get the results. In the US, it’s growing rapidly as the IT treatment for turning back the clock and patients in their 30s, 40s, 50s and older are booking in to get it done but the effect of removing a flap of skin from the eyelids opens up the eyes and looks dramatically different. It’s popular with men too who want to look younger and fresher.

With these new advances in surgery comes faster results, and how the surgeon closes up the skin after the excess is removed determines the recovery period and aftercare.
