Vuoden 2024 ensimmäisen neljänneksen liiketulos oli 3 157 miljoonaa kruunua. Liiketuloksen heikkeneminen edellisvuoden vastaavaan neljännekseen verrattuna johtui ennen kaikkea Yhdysvaltojen kvarttolevyjen hinnoista, jotka laskivat korkealta tasolta.

SSAB julkisti tänään osavuosikatsauksensa tammi-maaliskuun ajalta. Vuoden 2024 ensimmäisen neljänneksen liiketulos oli 3 157 miljoonaa kruunua. Liiketuloksen heikkeneminen edellisvuoden vastaavaan neljännekseen verrattuna johtui ennen kaikkea Yhdysvaltojen kvarttolevyjen hinnoista, jotka laskivat korkealta tasolta. Euroopan markkinat olivat edelleen suhteellisen heikot, kun taas erikoislujien terästen markkinat olivat vakaammat. Siirtyminen fossiilivapaaseen teräksenvalmistukseen jatkuu, ja SSAB on päättänyt investoida 4,5 miljardia euroa Luulajan terästehtaaseen. Sen lisäksi, että investointi poistaa 7 % Ruotsin hiilidioksidipäästöistä, se tuo mukanaan joukon muita etuja, kuten alhaisemmat tuotantokustannukset, suuremman joustavuuden ja paremman tuotevalikoiman.
