Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka walk out to open the batting. Nasum Ahmed will open the bowling for Bangladesh.
A brilliant batting performance from Bangladesh as they showed a good balance to post what should be a strong total for Sri Lanka to chase. The knocks by Naim and Rahim were vital in posting that total and Sri Lanka will have their work cut out against a strong bowling attack.
Mushfiqur Rahim (57* off 37): It was a good wicket to bat on. We have been looking at all the IPL matches and also in the last few matches, 140 was a par score. Today the wicket was pretty good, so we have to bowl and field really well to restrict them. In the last few days, we saw that as the day progressed it was difficult to bat. Also they are a young side, we wanted put scoreboard pressure on them. He (Naim) was brilliant, someone needed to bat through the innings, he did it in the first half and I did it in the second half. Hopefully we can defend the score. It’s a very good wicket, but hopefully 170 will be enough for us. First six overs will be very crucial. Against the the new ball, it’s easy to bat. If we pick up early wickets then we’ll hopefully restrict them.
